The Dental Practice is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for its patients, staff and visitors. We aim to manage and conduct our practice activities in a way that ensures the safety, health and welfare of all.
Policy Objectives:
- Comply with all relevant health and safety legal requirements, codes of practice and standards.
- Provide safe and healthy working conditions.
- Ensure all staff are trained and competent to do their tasks.
- Minimise hazards and reduce risks of accidents and work related ill health.
- Implement emergency procedures for handling cases of fire and other major incidents.
Responsibilities:
- All staff are responsible for maintaining a safe work environment.
- The Practice Manager is responsible for ensuring this policy is implemented and followed.
- The Practice Owner is responsible for overseeing the health and safety performance of the practice.
Training and Supervision:
Staff will be provided with adequate training, supervision and information so they can implement the health and safety procedures effectively.
Incident Reporting:
All health and safety incidents will be reported and investigated to prevent a recurrence. All staff are required to cooperate with these investigations.
Monitoring and Review:
This policy and its effectiveness will be reviewed annually or sooner if required by changes in legislation, or in response to an incident, audit or change in best practice.
Approval:
This Health and Safety Policy has been approved and endorsed by senior management at The Dental Practice.
