Health and Safety Policy

The Dental Practice is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for its patients, staff and visitors. We aim to manage and conduct our practice activities in a way that ensures the safety, health and welfare of all.

Policy Objectives:

• Comply with all relevant health and safety legal requirements, codes of practice and standards.
• Provide safe and healthy working conditions.
• Ensure all staff are trained and competent to do their tasks.
• Minimise hazards and reduce risks of accidents and work related ill health.
• Implement emergency procedures for handling cases of fire and other major incidents.

Responsibilities:

• All staff are responsible for maintaining a safe work environment.
• The Practice Manager is responsible for ensuring this policy is implemented and followed.
• The Practice Owner is responsible for overseeing the health and safety performance of the practice.

Training and Supervision:

Staff will be provided with adequate training, supervision and information so they can implement the health and safety procedures effectively.

Incident Reporting:

All health and safety incidents will be reported and investigated to prevent a recurrence. All staff are required to cooperate with these investigations.

Monitoring and Review:

This policy and its effectiveness will be reviewed annually or sooner if required by changes in legislation, or in response to an incident, audit or change in best practice.

This Health and Safety Policy has been approved and endorsed by senior management at The Dental Practice.
