Aim
The aim of this course is to provide dental professionals with a comprehensive understanding of the anatomy and function of body joints, enhancing their diagnostic and treatment skills in clinical practice.
Course objectives
- To enable participants to accurately list, identify, and describe the different types of body joints, including their significant features.
- To equip participants with the knowledge to identify and explain the different body movements and the structure and function of specific joints.
Anticipated learning outcomes:
The learner will, with respect to the components that he or she has elected to study as listed below:- be able to discuss both functional and structural classifications for body joints.
- be able to describe the characteristic features of fibrous joints and provide examples.
- be able to describe the characteristic features of cartilaginous joints and provide examples.
- be able to describe the characteristic features of synovial joints and provide examples.
- be able to define and identify the different body movements.
- be able to discuss the structure of specific body joints and the movements allowed by each.
- be able to explain the development of body joints.
