What type of forces will (B) mostly receive: Compression, Tension, or both?
Vertical forces transmitted to the post will cause compression of the dentine.
Lateral forces will cause both compression and tension of the dentine. Dentine is poor in tension, and often cracks.
This mixture of compression and tension is a splitting (torquing) force, known as the 'crow-bar effect'.
