Auditing your Radiographs
Dental professionals are expected to audit their radiographs at least every six months, and more often if proplems are suspected.
Clinical audit is an important part of Clinical Governance. It was introduced in the UK in the late 1990s after a series of healthcare scandals which included the Shipman murders and the Bristol Royal Infirmary heart surgery scandal. These scandals caused the public to lose confidence in the healthcare professions, and Clinical Governance was designed to restore it by making us responsible for publicly demonstrating our quality.
This online audit app allows you to enter brief details of the radiographs you take, including any errors, and it reports on whether you have met the standards recommended by the CGDent. It also summarises any errors so that an action plan can be created, if necessary, to help improve your performance.
You can optionally also do a records audit at the same time, demonstrating your patient notes contain the required information when you take a radiograph.
Your audit data is saved only on this device. It can not be accessed by any other device, or by any other app on this one. Dentaljuce has no access to your audit data.
